Sassy Lions Thrift Store Supporting Youth Sports

The members of the Duncan Lions are proud to support the Duncan Junior Baseball leagues here in the Cowichan Valley. Through the generous donations made through our Sassy Lions Thrift Store, the thrift store is able to turn those donations of clothing, housewares, furniture, electronics and so much more into the necessary funds to support the league. This year we have been able to assist with building of a benevolent fund that will assist those families with the finances that will enable a youth to participate in youth sports. This fund may be used to purchase much needed equipment, travel to games and so much more. The thrift store also contributed funding to heat and insulate an indoor batting cage building that will allow the youth to practice even in the coldest weather!

Pictured here is our Past President of the Duncan Lions Club, Lyne Moreau (centre), Vice President of the Duncan Junior Baseball League, Alison Stephen (left) and her son and outfielder with the “Phantom Mustangs” Jackson Stephen (right). Lyne is presenting a cheque to Alison that will in turn be used to fund the many projects of the league in the coming season.

Bravo to the many volunteers of the Sassy Lions Thrift Store, the volunteers and parents of the Duncan Junior Baseball League and lastly to those that generously donate to our store that without those donations, we would be unable to fund projects such as these!IMGP4284
